The Lion King : The Gift
Written by : Maryann Stephanie Nwaokoro
My childhood heart 💞 began to beat again. (I had goosebumps).
I am not a beehive ( beehives coming at me in) 1,2,3,…. (Laughs) no pun- intended. Tell you the truth, I have a few of Beyonce’s songs on my playlist. For me, her songs are mood situationships for me. I haven’t listened or made effort to listen to Bey’s whole album in my life.
In fact, I have a friend whom, I clearly tell all the time that:
“you keep saying youre not a beehive but you have downloaded the homecoming and play it all the time”.
And I keep getting the same response
” I am not a beehive. I just like the fact that she makes some kind of statement”
In my mind its a “Feminist kind of statement and we get it”.
Okay, this album…. I definitely could relate to cos I understood all the lyrics.
So, here are my favorites :
” Find your way back ” 🎼🎼🎼
Skibii robo 😂😂😂😂😂😂The Nigerian in me sat right up.
“Don’t Jealous me” 🎼🎼🎼
Hahahahaha don’t jealous me…. So Nigerian!!!
Mood 4 Eva🎼🎼🎼
Definitely gonna be on my repeat❤❤😍too much afro beat in this song. You just find yourself on your feet dancing 💃 to the rhythm.
“Baby oooo, not much of a talker ”
“Baby ooooo, can I drink from your water ”
Oh boy!!!!!!!!!!! This is lit( real deal) 💖💖💖💖This whole album is the real deal, you can’t pick and leave one song behind.
Brown Skin Girl🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼
Blue Ivy Carter
Blue and Wizzy’s intro were basically astonishingly great. Tell you what! Beyonce really did pick this one oh. The harmony in this song was good. And Blue’s ending was awesome.
Keys To The Kingdom
Wow!!!!!! The Yoruba Tiwa spoke threw me off. Tell you the truth, when I first heard about the album I wasn’t anticipating for any dialect. Mr Eazi kai, the brass tone and pidgin 🎼🎤🎤🎤🎤cool stuff.
If you are a Nigerian, Ghanaian or African you need not to learn the rtyhm that came with this song. The emphasis on the “already” was truly African… these artists did a great feature song. Mapped out the africaness that was portrayed in the lion king.
So, tell me your favorite song from all Beyonce’s album.
